Traditional Chinese Medicine - acupuncture & massage
After 14 years regularly offering massage my hands are calling out to me to dial things back.
I did enjoy giving a great massage and seeing and hearing the appreciation people expressed. I will miss it but likely not as much as I will miss having use of my hands in the long term.
For all my massage clients, thank you for your trust and your precious time. I enjoyed the silent massages and the ones where we had a lively, interesting chat.
I can recommend a couple of women that I personally see for massage. Each of them is happy to hear from anyone who would like to try a new therapist. Do allow time when trying new therapists. It can take a few sessions to settle in with someone new and to get used to a new style.
In Paekakariki we have Suzie Gallagher. She is trained in therapeutic, relaxation and shiatsu massage. Like me, she works from home in a beautiful little studio built by her partner. It smells great, the stream is right there to listen to and Suzie is lovely. Very easy to relax.
If I need something very deep or I have something in particular I want to address, I go to Maria Pitt in Raumati. She also works from home. She has strong hands and balances this with hot stone massage, you get the work and the relief! She’s available from May.

What will I be doing you may be asking?! I will continue to offer acupuncture treatments, cupping, moxa and pregnancy massage.
I will be starting a course in April 2024 focusing on supporting women through perimenopause and menopause through Traditional Chinese medicine and evidence based lifestyle, dietary and exercise advice.
I enjoy supporting women with their health and am looking forward to building on my knowledge in this particular area where there seems to be a great need. I hope that in time I will be focusing my practice around perimenopause and menopause.
Good luck and best wishes in finding a new therapist. Do keep getting massage, it is so very, very good for you on all levels.
